Horsetrader.com Web Pages

Horsetrader.com Web pages are powerful funnels that direct our web traffic to your Horsetrader ads as well as your own website outside Horsetrader.com! For just $179 for an entire year, they give your business not just an easy-to-find entry point, but also an inventory of ALL your current online and print advertising with us. A URL link to your own non-Horsetrader webpage is just $50 per year.

Submitting Photos

Photos may be either submitted online with an order or sent, postpaid, to the following address:

Please write your name and address on the back of each photo using a felt-tip pen. Include the text of your ad so we can identify the ad to which the photo applies. If you would like your hardcopy photos returned, please enclose a SASE.

Website Links

We accept offsite links for all PAID advertising only. The "Basic Listing" does not allow for an offsite link, and therefore any link submitted with this ad type will be discarded. Each ad can have only ONE link. There is a special row in the advertising input area for this purpose. All links must be properly spelled or they will not work. Please adhere to the following:

• A "Link URL" must begin with "http://" and must include the full path to reach the page or item to which you would like to link. Paths beginning with anything other than "http://" will be rejected.
• You must complete the "Link Text" line also for a link to be included. It contains the default text of "Visit my web site", which should be adequate for most purposes, but you may erase that text and enter your own. This is the text which will be visible to anyone looking at your ad. They will not see the "Link URL" information, but clicking on top of the "Link Text" will send the visitor to your site.
• If you want the visitor to see your URL, then you must place it in the "Link Text" line instead of the existing default text.

DO NOT FORMAT THE LINK IN HTML CODE. We will place the appropriate code around the link based on your input into the two "Link" fields. Formatted links will be rejected or not implemented.

Privacy Policy

Horsetrader.com is firmly dedicated to protecting your private information.

As described in detail below, any information we gather through this web site is strictly for internal use and is not shared with any other entity, public or private, for any reason - period. We will not sell or give away any email lists or other personal data that we may retain, and we do not purchase such information from other sources.

Our servers (as most) track IP addresses and referring pages to help with site maintenance and improvements. This data is viewed only as anonymous statistics to show the busiest times of the day or week, pages with errors and how well our systems are running. This information is not used for any other purpose.

We store the information from your order form to allow us to track customer service issues or refer to a previous order to help provide some customer service. You may elect to have your information completely removed from this system by emailing us at help@horsetrader.com with your request.

If you wish to correct, update or remove any information about you that may be in our records, please send an e-mail to help@horsetrader.com with the details of your request. If you wish to contact us further, please call us at 760-546-1184.

Fraud Prevention

Horsetrader.com works for more advertisers faster than any other horse publication and website. We are proud to offer you such a broad showcase for your advertising. Unfortunately, we occasionally receive reports of misuse of our system, and often these cases seem to involve fraud. Horsetrader.com works to protect its advertisers in several ways. First, we do not reveal your email address unless it is contained in your ad. Instead, readers wishing to contact you fill out a message to you that we immediately forward to your email address. Your email address cannot be seen or used by a customer until you reply to them. Use caution and common sense when dealing with any financial transaction:

• NEVER wire funds to a distant buyer, via Western Union or any other carrier
  
• NEVER give out personal financial information (checking account number, SSN, eBay/PayPal info, etc.)
  
• trust your instincts, and always remember the most important rule -- BUYER BEWARE

If you think you have been scammed, contact the non-emergency number for your local police department -- they may be able to offer advice about your options.

Most scams involve one or more of the following:

• long-distance buyer or seller
  
• requests for information that are not in keeping with the item or service you are advertising
  (i.e. requests for sale information regarding a breeding stallion ad)
  
• requests for info already included in the ad (price, photo, etc.)
  
• offer includes a cashier's check, postal money order or Western Union
